I just skinned a nice bass tried the body and oh fish sticks!the
stupid thing is to big way to big. Now I have a skinned fish that has soaked and is ready to go on but no body I dropped it back into the preservative solution and called in the order it may be a couple of days what would be the best way to save this skin let it soak? re-frig or frezzer? I know is thisn't the first time this is happened have any our you others found the save way to keep that skin until material arrives. Email me

say what kind of preservative you had - the easiest way is prbably to refreeze - it will be ok

Well it does not fit . Where does it not fit. To the why there could be some reasons. If the head area is not cleaned out good , left over bones meat you cannot get the head on all the way so therefore you won't ever get a good fit. no matter what form you get. Does the belly not line up or the pelvic fins. Try this look at the form put the tail in. Are the fin rays and meat all clipped out there should not be any left in there. If it is clean good if not take a sall pair of nippers and clean it out. Then put the head onto the form does the form slide all the way in can you see the brain ridgeof the form in the eye orbit. If not than more than likely there is too much stuff left in there . Crunch it out. once on or cleaeaned out then look at the pelvic fins do they come around and line up if not look at why . if all that lines up after you have a good tight head fit. The belly is too big se where it is and rasp it off to make it fit. If it just won't fit then you order the new form. Matbe it will work. If after all the above go figure . It might not be the snswer you are looking for but those are the steps that I use . But then again I usually crave my bodys but still go thru those steps. Think it out work it out clean it out.
Get a rasp and carve body down a bit to size..I had same problem when I started nothing worked.I had to learn to make my own templates and carve my own forms,,It takes a lot of expertize.but I often found when I bought forms I had to rasp them down anyway...so I might just has well be making my own
