I got a deer hide I fleshed.I had to leave rather quickly,so I threw it in an old pickle solution.It had a ph of about 3,so basicly it was salt water.It was a safte acid pickle.Can this hide be saved?Should I take it out and salt it,then pickle again?Thanks Mark

Mark, One piece of info missing--how long was it in the pickle? The ph was a bit high but I would call it a pickle and not just a salt bath. If you pulled it out after a few hours I would say finish fleshing, salt, dry, rehydrate, and pickle at proper ph. If it lay in there a day or so I would probably remove any big flesh, correct the ph and leave it in 3 days and shave. That's what I would do- Aaron H.
