the number two's will work for the cats. i use milligan brand lures and baits and they work good for me. i used to make my own baits but then i got married and it smells way to bad. in my state you cant use bait bigger than one inch square so i stay away from those types of baits.
good luck
hey james,#2s are fine as long as your using drags(6 foot chain and grapple,i wouldnt stake down a #2,they can pull out.bobcats are visual predators ,their nose isnt as good as their site, down here in texas we dont have restrictions on bait size, ill tie a rabbit skin to a tree limb 3 feet off the ground on the north side of a trail, the wind blowing the skin around gets their atention, then iether make set under skin or have a dirt hole set or flat set close to it with lure in hole or on a stump,i cant speak for milligan but hawbakers wildcat is another good one
James, the traps are fine and I would use a drag. The way I catch most of my cats (or used too) is to place a "dirt hole set" in a creek or river bottom area. Ideally try to find a sandy place along the bank with river cane nearby (varmints love to hangout in such places). I usually use a standard dirt hole set with canine urine, or sometimes just bait. Remember, set your trap in a good location and you'll catch critters, bait and lure will just speed things up. good luck. dnb
