I looked through the archives on this subject and found all kinds of opionions on how to do this but I am having a hard time deciding which way to do it. It sounds like potassium permanganate is a popular way. Does the painting a rack white first and then staining really turn out the way it is supposed to? Does that show the definition in the antlers like it should? How about regular wood stain? Do you need to prep the antlers in any way before applying wood stain? Sorry I have so many questions, I just would like another round of opionions if you have the time. Thank you.

Answered this one befor but it isnt to hard.I base coat paint it an off white then take an oil base paint, burnt umber, find it at any craft store, thin it with laqure thinner and apply till you get the desired color.Simple as that.If you feel intimidated try it on the back side of the antler first and se how easy it is.
