The ears of martens seem to be kind of difficult to turn.

You stick a forceps between the ear skin and the cartilage, and open/close the forceps until you reach the very tip.

You will likely poke holes in the ear skins in the backs or at the tips. Just glue them (when it is on the form). Super glue would work but apparently epo-g.r.i.p seems to be a better choice - doesn't leave a white residue when it is dry.

You can also inject the ears before you begin turning. This will show you where to make your "beginning turn cuts" more easily.

I injected the ears with pickle solution to set the hair before I started turning. You can use plain water or saline though.

Good luck. Make sure to post pictures of your beautiful martens!
