You have to get them into your shop.

I try not to tell price over the phone. I ask them to come to the shop look at my work. Once here I show them the difference.
Show them a piece of dried deerskin verses a hair on leather.
Then I explain how I use only the best products showing a set of eye, verse the cheaper eyes.

I even show them a Dixie cup with cured Epo-Grip verses a cup of shrunken dextrine.

Ear liners verses bondo. I even have a head with eyes set in Apoxie Sculpt instead of clay..

Have your reference photos and death cast out.

And yes contray to what the nay sayers speak, have all your ribbins hanging there to be seen. even explain why and what they mean.

You have to sell them on your service.

There are tons of books out there on sales. Zig Zigler is one!

First you must decide WHO you want for a customer. Then you produce the product they desire. Its ok to aim for the guy who wants it back quick and for less money, as long as you can deliver. Some, like myself want to cater to a clientel thats picky and is willing to wait and pay accordingly. But many successful shops prefer to double up on speed, thus allowing the price to become a tad more comfortable for the client, thus more work. He does two or three to my one, perhaps. This is ok, but you first must decide if thats the route you want to take. Once you do, attract that group to you based on those claims. Its that simple.

YEP!
