I have an old leopard skin rug that I was going to sell-does anyone know the laws on this thing?
Im being told its illegal to sell, than I was told it is not illegal as it was taken back in the 50s,than I was told it was legal only to sell in my state.
any help on this matter would be appreciated
Thanks!

Contact the United States Fish and Wildlife Service and ask them. I know you cannot sell it outside of the US without a CITES permit - and you will quite likely never recive that. There are domestic laws regarding most large cats as well. Depending what state you are in and what state you are selling to, different laws may apply. Start with the USFWS AND your state DNR first to see if its legal to sell where you are. Once you get that OK - then offer it for sale; but before a sale is agreed too - your purchaser must check with their DNR to be sure it's legal for them to have it. No matter what you read here, still contact the USFWS and DNR - those are the guys that are gonna bust you if the information is wrong - so get something in writing from them saying it's ok and you can go into your transaction with no fear of having the deal go sour on you =) Hope that helps!
