I need some opinions... What seems to be the Pickle of choice right now, or dosen't it matter? The other is whats the tanning agent of choice. I've used Van Dyke's supplies and was happy with the results but maybe someone knows of better products. Thanks

its definately a matter of choice here but if you havnt been playing around with different products i would suggest trying a few...some of my favorites are saftee acid with ez-100 tan, WASCOs acid bath crystals and lutan-f work well also however ive heard lots of good results from the krowtan for mounting purposes (i havnt tried it as of yet but plan to in the near future)if your just looking for soft skins i definately the ez-100 process....play around and check for more products in the archives...of course if you have a large volume of tanning its in your best interest (time and money wise) to utilize a tannery...good luck

In mypersonal opinion, Safety Acid is awsome as well as safe to use and safer for the inviorment. Thus the name "Safety Acid". Its a Retell product that most suppliers carry. I have useded it with great success. I also Like Formic, but can be unheathy to use and caution needs to be enforced when using. Pickles will vary in the requirements as far as the Ph levels that need to be maintained. Safety Acid at about 1,5,Formic 2.0-2.4 PH
Tanning will depend on what you want, either a submershion tan or a brush on/Rub on tan, You cant go wrong with either EZ Tan or Lutan F for a submershion tan. EZ is a great choice as you'll use 1/2 the product and it can be washed with out risk of Leatching! Both need to be oiled. These products can be purchasedonce again by most of the Suppliers out here.
As for a rub on tan, My choices would be Ritell's KWIK-N-EZE. Great stuff with excelent stretch and penetrates the skinfaster than any rub on tan I have used before. I also like LiquaTan by Knoblocks. I love them both, but the KWIK-N-EZE still gets my vote
For rug work,I would go with a Submershion tan, for anything else, all of the above are excelent!
If you dont want to worry about any of these, send your stuff to a tannery and let the profesionals take care of it. Thats what they're there for!
Have a great day,
Dave
Funny, when I was responding to this post there wan't a response from anyone yet. Reading your response, we must have gone to the same ole schooling! LOL
Good stuff,
Dave
yup looks like you copied me though since my post was first LOL yeah it seems we do things the same way huh
Personally...I prefer the Sweet Pickles...sliced or whole. The sour ones make my lips pucker...like lemons.
