i know this is old school to some of you vets out there,i really apreciate john c and his advice, but im still unclear on one step,i coat the antlers with silicone intirely but how does the flange get atached all the way to the antler,do you slice thru at the flange line and insert playing cards?but then how do you know your getting the flange all the way against the antler?

The flange seperates the mother mold that holds the rubber

in place. with out a mother mold, the rubber will not stay together.
You cut the silicon mold to release the antler, but it will not be where the flange is.
Feel free to e-mail me at gossard@gtelco.net I have made several repos and may be able to help you out. It is a labor of love as you most likely will not make your money back from doing it.

If you reread it and it took me a few to relize that he was attaching a V grove to the mold. He took excess silicone and poured it into an angle iron. when that set up he then siliconed it to the antler mold and placed the cards between the V.
He layed a V in the ceter of the entire mold, split the V so that it would hold the card in place. He split the V almost all the way through so it holds a card. Then he built the flange over the mold. Most generally when we make a mold like this we make keys so that the molds would line up no problem. By placing this V it actted as the key so that the mold still go back together.
I think this is what your after.
