Have been using Hide Master epoxy with o.k. results. It says it cures in about 4-6 hours but 24 hours later it feels like taffy, and still very sticky. Has any one tried Epo-Grip and hidemaster who can tell me the difference, except for the price. I know Epo-Grip is a fine product by everyones responses, but I would like an honest opinion of the two. I'am also going to mount a couple of bobcats, and was wandering how the epoxys work on the cats (have been using latex caulk). Your insight will be greatly appreciated.

Like everyone I searched and searched for a better hide adhesive.
Lock tight did not give me the time to work the head. Smells like fiberglass.
Hide Master is almost identical to Lock tite.
That nasty Gray stuff should be banned to sticky and thick.
The list goes on, all about the same results.
Dextrine is a old stand by. It does give you time to work the hide, you can add details over the next several days.
Epo-Grip gives you a eight hour working time. Grips like no other!
YOu can add little wrinkles and the skin is locked onto the form forever!
Thanks JC I've been going to try it. The only thing to me about Hide master was the questionable holding power before the skin started drying, and moving. I will try it on my next deer, if it doesn't work as good as you say it will it's your a#$. JUST KIDDING, thanks allot for responding. (I know you didn;t have to)
It will work, and I do use it in and around the eyes, everywhere.
I also wipe the forms down with lacquer thinner, then use a round circuler wire Brush to ruff the form up. (I have switched to sand blasting these days)
Many of us than have been doing taxidermy for years use to use clay for details, Epo-Grip will let you do away with clay for wrinkles. Also I use Apoxie Sculpt around the eyes, but fill the back of the eye with clay other wise the eye may crack as the epoxy sets.
Give me a e-mail.
