can you use a bread knife to flesh a hide? heard someone say they did once and i was just wondering if its productive.

Actually there is no right or wrong equipment to use. It is the results you attain that matters. there are probably as many method of fleshing as there are taxidermists. If it works for you then it is a great idea.

Just make sure you're 'sheving' the hide...blade flat-like against the skin...not cutting into it. That's why fleshing knives are called Drawing or Shaving Knives...pushing the fat and tissue off the skin away from you.
