teeth/skull question

when boiling a (cat) skull, are the teeth likely to come loose? if so, what's the best way of keeping track of them for reassembly?

thanks!

DON'T BOIL!

Firstly never boil the skulls - it hurts the bone bad and mskes the sutures fall apart. Either beetle clean or macerate. If you search in the archives under "maceration" there are some awesome techniques listed. Particularly useful are those submitted by Wolfwoman.

The teeth will likely fall out which also provides you the opportunity to clean the root and hollow the tooth sits in. Check them periodically and as soon as you fee they are loose enough to remove - do so intentionally. Place it in a ziploc back with the exact location it came from (third tooth upper left for example). When the project is done, superglue back in place =)

thanks
