Proper Chemical Mix

Submitted by Jack on 03/30/2003. ( jrparker00@aol.com ) 64.12.96.231

My instructional video on turkey says (after fleshing) to submerge the skin in a mixture of Super Solvent Degreaser, Dawn, and water "as directed on the label," then rinse three times.

Next, mix Super Solvent Degreaser, Liqua Cure, and water "as directed," soak over night, rinse thoroughly, then it moves on to the drying process, etc.

When the chemicals came in, I found (what I'm sure most of you know) that the label directions on neither one are compatible with the video instructions.

Beings that these are the chemicals I bought, I would like to go ahead and use them if I can get some suggestions on what the proper mix and procedure should be.

Thanks...

Its a damn wonder someone has not been hurt by folowing some of those screwed up videos.

Follow directions on the labels, its is against Federal laws to use any chemical outside its intended purpose.

First wash your turkey in the dawn then rinse. Then use your degreaser then rinse and finally soak in your cure and rinse then dry. It will all be the same as what the video was trying to tell you. Just a little safer.
