I am new at this and I am going to try a hooded, but I need to know how to do the head feathers.

Make sure neck skin is completely cleaned and fleshed, and do not make any holes in this part of the skin. Squirt some latex caulk under the head skin. After mounting, pull the crown forward/ preen the feathers. Latex will lock them in place when drying. Type "latex caulk" and use the search botton. You will get loads of info on this subject.

TRC, Another way is to put a thin layer of Apoxie-sculpt on top of the artificial head (or skull). Position the skin, "back brush" the hood and with a needle or pin press the skin to the Apoxie. The skin will stay put. Enjoy, Aaron H.
You keep answering the same question. They will never use it.
...but I was up a bit early and didn´t mind typing a little. To all newcomers: most of You on this site live in taxidermyland (USA) and You have got EVERYTHING at Your fingertips! Seminars, videos, books, supply houses, AND the orange button on Your left! In Sweden we have two (2) suppliers, and I tell You: You would LYAO if You saw their collections. Good thing they import eyes, jaw sets etc from You. If I were 17 again and starting out today I would consider selling my soul to the devil if I could get access to what You have. I say this - and mean it - Bless America, land of the free - AND the people that not only took taxidermy to today´s levels of artistery- but also share for nothing on this site!
