....hmmmm, tried to submit an answer to you but it didnt post.
Any ways, dont take it as getting Beat Up. Thats not the case. Its just that to often folks want the answers but dont want to do their home work.
I'll tell you what, go BACK to the Orange button to the left and type in "Rehydrate" and see what you find.If you dont get the answer, let us know and we'll help you mopre from there.
Good luck,
Dave
I didn't post an answer to your original question, but it's only because you had directed it to someone else. When we, as experienced taxidermists, see a question like yours, we immediately know someone is in WAY over their head. These are basic methods that need to be learned before we hang out a shingle saying "I IS A TAXIDMIST" (incorrect spelling intended). If you feel intimidated by this site, then you need to read up on what you're asking. In a few years you'll read your same question and realize how simple it was and how "anyone would have known that". And if you're going to be intimidated by US, you're in for a terrible treat when you meet your first customers.
There is really nothing here to intimidate if you approach this site with an open mind. I am 44 years old and have been reading every word of this site for 2 years. I am starting taxidermy later than some, but am probably enjoying the learning process more than most (except for splitting eyes!). Thank all of you who have never met me but continue to help as I read you every night.
My apologies if my original reply to you sounded curt...wasn't intended to be.
After all the jokes the past few days...thought it might have been a trick question...but had benefit of a doubt...thus the reaon I asked if it was a cape or hide...then I would have answered it properly.
Dave and George are correct though...the Archives are loaded with valued information equivalent to that of a University education and then some...all worth its weight in gold to those who will mine the Mother Lode.
If you have any further questions...please feel free to ask them here openly...or drop me a line by E-Mail...Good luck on your mount...Take care.

Don't be intimidated here.I've been doing taxidermy for several years. When i found this site,I read the archives from front to back,it was the best thing I could have done. This is the only forum on the net where a pro will help you learn a trade!I am also a tattooist.Go into one of those forums and you can see beginners really get beat up.This is the nicest forum on the web today.
Thanks for saying those kind words about these forums. Like yourself...I too have gone back and read the Archives...still do when I can find time. They are so danged interesting and informative...like having a time machine and going back to when it all started almost five years ago.
Thanks for saying that m'friend...everyone 'knowingly' here appreciates that.

Thanks for the welcome. I am doing prety good for an old beginner. So far I have been fortunate with the few deer that I am working on. I have done some euro mounts and I have four deer and one coyote waiting in the wings. THe coyote was bought from a trapper and has the feet cut off so I will probably do a shoulder mount of him. I hope to have the coyote and one small deer ready for the Texas show this June. It is in my hometown so I am really looking forward to it. I read in the archives and all the current posts every night as well as videos and several current books (Breakthrough).
Thanks for the kind words!Taxidermist on this forum go out of there way to help the new guys, and like I said,I frequent a tattoo forum where the new guy is shut out.Guys like you,JohnC,George,Bruce and many others,to many to name off the top of my head, are a real class act. Thanks for the time you take to help others!
