I was planning on purchasing reference photos from our supply companies. I was curious as to which companies carried the best ones or are the pictures basically the same no matter which company you buy them from. Any input would be greatly appreciated. Alan.

The reference photos from the various supply companies are not the same...because they are taken by different photographers.
Both WASCO and Van Dyke offer great sets of reference photos. Only problem is...you can't see them until you get them.
Try the great books offered inthe catalogs on the various ducks and other birds...as well as animals.
As for Squirrels...John Bellucci's from WASCO are the best in my opinion...taken from pet squirrels he raised.

Alan,
There is a great collection of 30 closeup photos of birds in flight available for free download at www.texasrattlers.com . I know you'll find them useful.

Thanks for the great responses! The reference photo sets are rather expensive and I didn't want to invest that kind of money and be dissapointed. Thanks for the tip Headhanger. They have nice reference photos that will be very helpful. Thanks again. Alan.
"PRAIRIE WINGS" by Edgar M Queeny is the book you want...from WASCO (Sally Dahmes favorite reference book).

.......Alan, get ahold of Glen Conley. He has some of the best refereence CD's out on the market with great "Up Close" photos and very detailed.
I know that both Glen as well as Van Dyke's sells them on page 316 of their current Catalog.
Have a great day to all,
Dave
