Marino Ram skinning

Submitted by Johnny on 04/28/2003. ( atrophytaxi@aol.com ) 64.12.96.231

How do I start the skinning process on a Marino Ram I just have question around the horn area.
Do I go in between the horns, or from the back and skin forward.
And to detach the horns from the skull plate all I do is boil it?

Thanks for any help
Johnny

Just like a whitetail

You want to sew that little thin flap together behind the horns. Now you're seeing why I charge so much for skeetgoats.

Skin them as George says, like a whitetail, and make it easier on yourself and cut it down the back if its not allready, you can't fine the stiches in all the wool afterwards anyway. I just let the horns rot off the cores, then boil the skull plate to clean, dump some borax or dry presur.in the horns, let them dry a little then and slide them back on to dry together. Also if your going to send it out to be tanned, I would, New Method did a good job on mine. Most tanneries don't do wooly sheep. Any other questions fell free to ask... Paul
