keith,
before you put felt on the coyote it needs to be rehydryated, stretched on a table (plywood) armpits trimmed out and sewn to take out extra skin, dried, and trimmed to be symetrical. after you do this you can put on the felt and backing. First - I am assuming you bought the felt already crimped - you need to sew enough felt strips together to go completely around the coyote (not the tail - this is done seperatly), and then add an extra strip for the gathers at the feet and chin. You can either hot glue the felt to the edge (about 1/4 inch from edge) or sew it with a machine. When you get to the feet and chin use a needle and thread to make 1/2 in stitches and make the ruffleed gather so the felt will stay flat. After the felt is on you can back the rug with a heavy type material - this must be pinned on, trimmed, tucked under and handsewn to the felt.
