Virus info

For those of you that are new to this Forums and computers, the orange
button contains much information on computer viruses. But if you are
new to computers, you may not yet know how to utilize the search
function, so I will post some information at this time.

TrendMicro sends out a free weekly virus report. That is worth subscribing to. According to last week's report, worm Klez H has
once again became the most prevalent In-The-Wild Malaware. There is some good information on Klez if you just click on the orange button
and then enter Klez as your search word. Klez took out a lot of
computers last year, and an untold number of those that were affected are regulars on this Forums. The virus does not discriminate.

You can have your computer checked for virus infection for free at
this address:

http://housecall.trendmicro.com

Your first go round will take a little bit of time to down-load the program files. It will be much quicker on subsequent visits.

As you will see when you visit this site, this is not ongoing protection against virus infection. You will need a separate anti-virus program for that and it will need to be kept updated.
