I just want to thank everyone for all the help they gave me on my first caribou.I mounted it for a friend for a good price. I had to make a removable antler, and was really concerned about that. Anyway i got through it and he just picked it up and he thought it looks great. With everyones advise, i took my time, got some reference, and was prepared Thanks again !

My next mount will be a life size racoon, thought i'd try something small for now. It's bear season now, and if i get a nice one i want to do a standing full mount.I am a part timer, just starting out, and get a little more work every year, but still have enough time to do some of my own stuff. How abouy you what are you working on?

I have two more customer wt shoulders to do then my stuff. I've got a beatiful crow with white spots, a pheasant with 32 bands, and six lm bass I caught last week between 2-5#. Fish are my favorite. Then theres a 14in. crappie, 12in. oscar(pain, they're bony),2 n. pike,4 wt hides to tan, and a few squirrels. My freezer is loaded, can't wait till they're all customer mounts. At this point, I have FAR more money going out then coming in. And then there's the full time job and a family to take care of . Oh well, nothing good comes easy ! Guess I must love it or I'd have given up long time ago. Peace- Jeff F.

Yah sounds like you are in the same boat as me,family, full time job taxidermy business, and what ever life throws at me. I love taxidermy also. This year i did a set of moose antlers,a ptarmagin, bear rug, caribou, and i have to do another ptarmagin, and a mallard, and a guy said he is bringing over a couple of sitka deer.So not a lot of work, but it's better than last year.I have to be patient and try to put out good work, and keep trying to learn. how long have you been in business?
