Does anyone know if I can legally buy a black bear rug from another state for me to have in California? It's not for resale purpose
Called my State Assiociation which I belong to but they did not sound 100 % sure. I tried to call fish and game to no avail and I need to do make my mind quite fast on that transaction

As long as you have a bill of sale from the seller. Plus where the bear was killed, with the appropriate information from the hunter, and the seller. I don't see a problem with the sale. But you might want to contact your local DNR, or wildlife offical and ask them what exactly the correct paper work you'll need to aquire the bear. Just to be on the safe side

Was agreat help to me a couple years ago. He put me in contact with a Taxi that works fro the Calif DNR. Sorry if speeled name wrong. But there are weird rules in Calif. A taxidermist can only sell a mounted animal after the customer has not picked up with notification. The taxidermist in the state of calif can only sell it for the amount owed to recoup his losses. Must have proper paperwork from seller to prospective customer. At least thats what I gto out of it. Hope this helps
