Whitetail painting schedule

Submitted by Brian N. on 05/20/2003. ( bnoody@falcon.wnyric.org ) 168.169.63.55

I did a search for a painting schedule and found a message from way back in 2000 from Larry. He said he would send ChemOddities schedule to a beginner. If you are still out there larry, could you send one to me? If not, is there anyone out there that would be willing to help me out? I just ordered Dennis Behn's video on finishing, does this video include a schedule to follow?
Thanks for your help.

The tape will tell you everything you want to know, including the exact mixing instructions. Patience. LOL BTW, Breakthrough awhile back had Bill Yox's nose schedule that's awesome. Some of the wild hair around here would rather badmouth buddy Bill than learn from what he says. You ought to look up that issue and laminate it.

You can go to Jim Allred's supply homepage(www.jimallred.com) and they have a link to paint schedules. I know they have whitetail, bluegill, smallmouth, largemouth, etc.

2. Brush lifetone hydromist flesh with paint brush over nosepad, add a few drops of bright red. Immediately rub off the nodules to leave in the creavices.

3. Add modge podge,(he used Van Dyke"s fin backing cream) to the nodules with a diabetics syringe, also add oil glands to lower eyelids.
4. He painted fairly heavy and used 45 to 50 psi. Pure white, white out eyes, ears, bottom of nose, lower lip. Cut with isopropyl, 10%. Lower lip needs to be a full roll.

5. Flesh, eyes ears nostrils. Also cut 10%. Trough of the lower eyelid. Smooth out first with modge podge. Make it roll to the inside, not flat.

6. Mars Red. Inner ear, nostril interior

7. Dark brown + Rich brown(2 dps.) 50% alcohol. Dirty inner ear, crease above eye, around eyes, but not trough, spray at an angle.

8. Jet black, 66%, Neutral Gray 33%, cut with 75% alcohol. Hit nosepad, Bottom eyelashes, glass, nictitating membrane. Darken ear tips, any hair patterns, like lip line area, muzzle and forehead. Scars.

9. Satin top coat, eyes, inner ears, crease of lip

10. Clean the whole mount with a toothbrush.(hair) Scrape paint off the eye, leave a half moon in the front corner for the nictitating membrane, add modg podge over the paint for depth.
May have missed some things, but that should get you most of it.

Hope this helps

Thank you
