I just finished mounting my first two turkeys, but it will be several weeks before the freeze-dried heads will be back. The neck skin seems to be drying out and stiffening up pretty fast. How can I keep it soft?
Thanks,
Jack

Cause if it is your in a big heap of trouble. For one thing you never read a book or watched a video. Not one would tell you mount any thing with out having all the proper parts to do it.
Now if your telling us the truth, the only way is to place the bird either mounted or take it apart and put it back in the freezer till you get all the parts. Then and only then mount it.
YIKES! Sad, very sad...
...but the crises has passed. A professional suggested how to handel the problem, and it worked out great. He also offered a couple of other tips (that I would not have known to ask) that have also proven very helpful.
I shudder to think where I would have been without this forum.
Thanks very much for all the past help.
