mounting a kit beaver

I am going to mount my first kit beaver & was wandering if I could
substitute A muskrat manikin since I can not find a beaver manikin
small enough?

Not without it looking like a muskrat

Muskrats have a humped back unlike the squatty beaver. Best bet is to carcass cast or freeze dry. The freeze dry method is your best bet to take care of that tail especially.
