I am doing a cottontail rabbit mount, the first one for me, and I have purchased a kit from Van Dyke's and the first step is to thaw the rabbit out and then put it in a solution of instant preserve for four hours, my question is: Can I leave the rabbit in this solution overnight, or is four hours enough time?
Thank You,
any replies would be helpful

If the bunny is in your freezer...put it in your refrigerator overnightto thaw out. The carcass itself doesn't have to be totally thawed throughout.
Skin it the next day...put it in the preservative solution for four hours as instructed. Don't try to reinvent the wheel...it turns good enough as it is.
Damp dry it with towels...blow dry the hair side with hose from back of your vaccum cleaner...on blower...Borax the skin and mount it.

Thanks for the help, I appreciate it.
