Slight cracks in the nose

I have just mounted a nice eight pointer and am real happy with it. i have done the modeling to get ready to paint it but have notice slight surface cracks in the nose pad. Will these effect the mod podge finish work? Will they be able to be seen through the paint and texturing?

Any crack can be filled in with epoxy if it is deep. If they are slight cracks mod podge will do. I personally like to give the entire nose pad a thin coat of mod podge first then, let it dry.
After that add the desired texture. Good Luck!

Nose pad

Brian, You say you just mounted this deer- the carcks are no problem as I'm sure they are slight but before you do any finish work be sure to allow enough time for the mount to dry completely. This is to assure that the nose pad won't continue to change. I wait 2 weeks before doing finish work on deer. Hurrying into the finish work can cause extra work later in repairs. Enjoy, Aaron H.
