Anybody know a Scott Griffin from Beaver Lake Taxidermy? He was in the Bentonville area and I think has moved to the Fort Smith area. A friend of mine brought him a deer and was told it would take 6-8 months. Its been almost 3 years. The last time they talked he told my friend he had used my friends down payment to finish another mount, and when he got the balance on the other customers he would finish my friends. Sounds screwed up to me. My friend has tried calling him with no answer, left messages with his wife with no return call, and gone by his shop with no one home. He is thinking of legal action but doesn't know where to start so I told him I would check on here for some advise. Any ideas?

Check with the state association

Have you checked with his state association? You may want to contact them and see whether he is a member. You can also check and see if he is a member of NTA (National Association). If he is a member they will have his current address and phone number. If not, I'd go to the local police department and file a theft charge against him. Sounds like he definitely screwed your friend over. Taxidermists like him ruin the reputation of the rest of us who are honest. Hope you'll find him.

your friend should press charges

your friend should bring the law into the scene. if it has been 3 years. i would have after a year it shouldnt take more than 6 months at the max for a good taxidermist to get a shoulder mount done.

thanks for your help

Just another Arkansas rippoff artist. He was in Springdale doing bussines as Beaver Lake Taxidermy. Lives In Fort Smith, did work for Roams Taxidermy in Fort Smith ,but fired now. Lots of people looking for him, He ran off with dozens of peoples mounts. He took every ones deposit and I heard a while back he was trying to sell peoples cape to a guy. Nothing new with that part of country, people like him start up every other day, and supported by people trying to save a dime and take it to cheapest one and end up with nothing or a door a door stop. There are some customers trying to get up a case against him but dont know there name. He is not a member of any org. except crooks aynoumous. Try other taxidermists in area they may know some thing of him
