Help on speckled Trout. Cut 2 wholes on fish while skinning. One on show side about 1/2 in in length and the other by the pectoral fins about 3/4in in length. What is the best way to go about trying to repair these on such a thin skinned fish? Thanks in advance for all Help...

Whenever I cut a hole in a fish skin I just mount is as usual and pin the hole closed with some insect pins. Make sure you keep the surface smooth (No bunching or overlaping of skin, etc.). after the fish is dry i smooth the small seam over with some smooth out epoxy then give it some texture with a paper towel. After that is dry I blend the color of the epoxied area to the rest of the skin with some pewter treasure gold wax. This has worked very well for me but I am only a beginner and others may have some better ways. Ryan
