I'm a beginner taxidermist looking for a place close to the Bryan/ Collegestation TX area that I can send a Bobcat fur to get tanned. The cat will be mounted on a form. If any suggestions please help. Thanks

I had nothing but bad luck with sending cats to tanneries. They seem to cut a bunch of holes into them all the time. Why don't you tan the cat yourself with Krowtan? Works great and saves you money too. Plus you don't have to worry about someone cutting holes into it. if you still want to send it off, send it to Advantage Fur Dressing in Houston. their number is 1-713-868-3503.
I have not heard of this way. Is it easy to use? Does the hair slip? I still have to put it on a form. Thanks
Krowtann 2000 is what a lot of taxidermist use (even for competition mounts). It is very easy to use. Go type in Krowtan 2000 in the search button and you'll find tons of info on it. I have been tanning all of my customer and my own cats this way and never lost one hide. Good luck.
