San Francisco fiction writer wants to observe skeleton prep

I'm writing a novel and have a character who, for extra credit, is preparing a pelican skeleton for her college biology class. I have read articles on the process and realize it would be very helpful to watch a professional at work. Is there anyone out there in the San Francisco Bay Area who I might observe? I'd also appreciate suggestions for finding or approaching someone. Reference book titles would also be helpful. Thanks.

There are numerous videos on mounting birds. Maybe not specifically pelicans, but other water birds, which would essentially be the same process. Look for them on this site under "Suppliers." (Not the forum..go back to the home page for Taxidermy.Net.)

Check with Stefan Savides at Avian Design. He might be able to help you, too.
