Beetles do a great job cleaning skulls. anone know if they can remove ram horns. I don't like boiling them and I don't like rotting them.I just wonder if any one ever tried beetles.

Kev, do the rot thing. I didn't like it either, was one of the nastiest things I'd ever done but the resutls were just great. Put the rough cleaned head in a black plastic bag with a little water and leave it on the roof for a month. They fall right off and this was for a Highland bull with three foot long horns. I also boiled a rams head that was fresh once. The horns came off but they were soft and discolored just a little. Once dry though they looked ok. Plastic bag or giant pot, but I reccomend the bag.
Werks fur me...have done this many times. Do the work outdoors or in a ventilated area...or expect Divorse Papers in the mornin.
