Repeat after me..."Dear Lord..." It's admirable that he has such determination as we all do with someting new and exciting in life...especially in taxidermy experiences.
Many have gone before in this experience...but nowadays with modern technology and Freeze Drying and Artificial Heads...the Artificioal is the way to go. So much faster and easier.
After the difficult skinning, mounting and drying the head...the very difficult job is airbrushing it to look natural. Not trying to disuade him,. mind you...Have it Freeze Dried to look natural...or get the expensive reproduction for a realistic mounted bird.

You should freeze dry it. I just sent out two heads out to Ohio. The guy who does it his name is Rich, he's a real nice guy. His business is named Anglers Taxidermy and Freeze Dry. Website;mount.cjb.net and e-mail is AnglerTaxi@aol.com. Each head costs $35 pained that is the cheapest there is. Turn around is 5-6 weeks. I'm a beginner (3 years) I've mounted 11 turkeys so far. Good Luck. Ted
