Chances are no you cannot salvage this fish. First you had to ask, this shows us you have not read the Archieves at all and maybe just found this site.
Research you question.

John C if you are ASSUMING I haven't observed the forum for BEGINNERS for a bit or hit on the old search button befor posing my question you'd be - - - - - WRONG ! I have watched people mis use it ! I searched : old fish , smelly fish , soft fish ,rotten fish , need iI go on tell ya what I did find was how to clean my smelly hands. How evere I was not able to find the question asked directly and I like input from multiple sources , that be how I am sorry. Howevere I just may have missed something , is there a way fur ya-all to see , feel , and smell the specimens ? I do appreciate your input , may I askdid you MEAN put the whole fish or just the skin in denatured alcohol or do I have to use the search button<<<<<<<<<<< again? all in fun John C Thanks Joe
Sounds like the fish was left in a bucket of water for about 2 days in the sun.lol Maybe you could save yourself the hassil and heartache. and just do up a reproduction of your trout?
just a suggestion.Ray
thank's Ray for that idea, I caned it to day, just not worth the work and time. Hay what's ( 1o1 ) stand for ? thanks Joe
Sometimes you have to be a bit inventive for the search button to work. Plus be lucky. Thats why I told you to soak the fish in denatured alcohol full strength. Then see if it tightens up any. When its time to mount you may need to soak in plan water to relax it enough..
