I saw a topic a few days ago in the form about the Iraq war and saw the answers and could tell that they came from some old gung ho ex-military men. The sad part about it the Bush Admiistration has know started blaming each other for false information that led to the war . Our soldiers are still being killed almost daily and now the news says it may be 4 years before we are able to leave Iraq. I voted for Bush and have strongly supported him , but am now beginning to wonder . Where are all tose weapons of mass destruction and also where is Sadam and that billion dollars he slipped out with. I am a Taxidermist and I see this war breaking the country aand when it gets bad enough people will quit having taxidermy done ,there just won't be the money to do it . I am worried ........

I also voted for bush. It has already affected the taxidermy industry and it will get worst. It all depends on a lot of different things but we must stand behind him until our next election. Then vote for the best canadiate that you feel at that time will do the best for the country.
Maybe you should be greatful, if it was an old gun ho military man that shared his knowledge with you. Have you ever served your country? Don't try to be a smartass when it come to the military. Just be greatful or go live in another country. Sad but true, most Americans don't realize what they have until it is gone or they are threatened that something may be taken that directly relates to them. As far as Taxidermy goes? If people want their trophies mounted, they will find the cash to get it done. I don't know a hunter, trapper, or outdoorsmen that won't find a way to get the money to mount one of their trophies. Don't worry, be happy with what you have. Don't forget you have what you do because of the military that we have. If you don't beleive that you are living in a wonderland in your own mind. When I was a kid I didn't realize that something as simple as just driving my own car any where I wanted at any time and being able to buy a car was a priveldge. Everyone takes the basics (normalities) for granted in everyday life. Good Luck to you in the future. Dan Hudzik
The town I live in lost over 500 jobs to Mexico (Levi Strauss closed) Now the EPA and OSHA have fined another company $400,000.00 the are talking about moving to Mexico. One plant that made wood handles for axes, shovel etc. closed down and another 150 jobs gone, they made very good handle! but the cheaper made handles from Mexico closed them. The wood is still shipped down and turned.
The Unions have done wonders for labor but maybe they are breaking some of the smaller companies.
The people that lost their jobs here have now been aborbed into other jobs in the community, so I guess it all works out.
Its more than the war that is invovled in your lack of business.
If the economy is so bad, how are people buying the new houses I see being built, hell nearly all are driving newer cars and trucks than I drive, so how are they paying for them? how are they paying for boats and motors?
Do you see what I see now?
I see many, many people now mowing lawns either as a living or as a second job. But how does the home owner justify paying someone else to mow, weed eat, edge the yards?
When was the last time you saw a power washer on a truck, power washing someones house or deck? Have you also seen the people that visit new car lots and wash the cars? I have! Even the Highway dept. is contracting mowing out, the Corp of Engineers contract their parks out too.
War Stock Military Ammunition must be replaced seems the Ammo plants are running normal production now, instead of the lay offs they had.
Frazier, What have you done for your country?
Frazier, What have you done to improve your quality of work?
Frazier, What have you to promote your business?
Frazier, What is the publics opinion of you and your work?
Frazier, Maybe its time you looked in the mirror at your self and your business.
Dan and John, I do appreciate your feelings about the statements I made . As what have I done for my Country, I served in Vietnam in the mid 60s. And I am gun ho to a point, but I don't go overboard with it like I have saw some do . I have worked 2 jobs for over 25 years in a factory and as a full time Taxidermist, and beleive me there as been many times I have thought about giving one of them up . I say this not to brag , I just wanted Dan and John to know that I just don't sit around on the computer and try and stir other people up .
explaining yourself to me. Your not the only one that works 2 full time jobs and I am sure there are a lot of other people who still do. Glad you served your country, don;t want to seem like I am going Overboard, but at least you have the right to bitch. Dan
He is only the President, he is only as good as the people around him, and the information they give him, and the suport that is provided to him.
There is also, a very, very, large group of people, who want, and need, him to fail, and they don't care what state our economy is in. So they will have the chance to do their deeds, with them runnig this Country, and their foreign aligned Countries, running the show.
Where as, like Randy said, if everyone got behind, and supported the President, and also, I am now adding to the list, the Country, the Economy, the Flag, the Pledge of Allegiance, the Bill of Rights, the 10 Commandments, I don't see how any President could go wrong, with that kind of support. I also do not see how any Country would not prosper and grow stronger.
why haven't any of you folks wondering about the war, the economy and Bush' presidency gripped about your tax break? Did any of you refuse your tax refund checks to get us going in the right direction?

Dan...John C...Randal...Dave...All Correct. There always will be negative minded Dooms-Day-Placard-Carriers...like we see in the cartoons every so often.
We all sewrved in the Military serving our Great Country...fortunately we came back alive (well...maybe not happy for the ETCC-haters...LOL) Death is part of life...and when you're in the Military...your time may come up...part of the job.
Last month a new worker slipped off a ladder and fell to his death into an empty water resevoir tower they were cleaning. Babies die at birth...drunks kill more people on the road daily than in war time.
It costs lives in trying to create and maintain peace in the world.,..even in local communities alone..ask your local Police and Fire Chiefs and ER crews.
Point is...you make it or break it in life...the choices we make. If we procedd blindly we pay the price. There is not a single industry in this world that is not profiting bigtime in what some call 'bad times'. I've been through 'bad times'...know that more than many...you go on and live for the living.
If you want to profit in your Taxidermy Business...go after it logically, soundly and with knowledge...or kwitcherbitchin and join the bread lines and be content with trhat decision you make...just stop bitching to us about it.

Frazier it would be a waste of American money to involve troops in foreign conflicts if everyone were peaceful. Re-live the towers in your mind to remind yourself what started all of this. American Presidents are required make a lot of decisions that no-one likes in order to preserve the freedom we enjoy. If we had listened to the UN and simply backed down there would have been a much higher risk. The end result would require even more money and lives and an even more unacceptable backlash a few years down the road. We have always had enemies that hate us and always will. As long as we occaisionally prove we are more powerful than them and willing to defend our country they will be more reluctant to attack us. The only thing the leadership of enemy nations fear is the total loss of power. Right now our last two adversaries have not fared very well and would be better off if they had left us alone. They were gambling with the belief that we would not retaliate or that France & Co. would stalemate any action. They were wrong. Should common sense prevail in Iraq it should be obvious that the sooner Iraqis cease killing the sooner we will leave. The death of every American soldier is prolonging our presence and occupation.
And people complained about me using upper case letters on a post...
But for a Vietnam "veteran" to start any statement the way you did, is just plain reprehensible. You obviously didn't pay many dues or that kind of remark would have been swallowed.
All the others have given you some pretty good responses, but with your and Randy's definite liberal leanings, I want to know when was the last time you were in West Virginia. That chicken necked old Klansman whose pompous assed attitude is being used by you has bilked the American government out of 10 times that much for a state which ranks 50th in most every poll. They have 4 lane super highways through the mountains that start at no place and end at no place. Charleston WV has an extensive monorail and automated train just for spits and grins. There are a couple more just like that old buzzard in Congress, but they lament of how much money is being "wasted" in Iran. You need to get a grip. All I ask you are anyone else who pulls those figures out of your ass is this: How much would it cost the US to maintain it's current military posture if we didn't spend a dime in Iraq. Do you think we'd save money by getting out of Iraq? If you do, you've got bigger problems that taking cheap shots at us "old gung ho ex-military men." You must've been a cook in the Navy.
I spent most of my adult life serving my Country as a MArine before retirement in 95 and embarking on my new career as a taxidermist. Gung Ho as I've always been taught and preached means " Pull Together, Teamwork" if you can't be part of the team, leave, or you'll drag us down. This is NOT President Bush"s fault, we could blame it on the 8 years before Mr. Bush, but what would that solve. As Americans we need to suck it up and pull together and get the job done, If your work is better than most you will survive if it isn't than make it better or suffer. Semper Fi, John

Seems to me that everybody is GUNG HO except Frazier? HMMM? ETCC hit it on the nose along with John. George I know it had to be hard to bite your tongue on this one. I even held back, hell I think we all did! I see Teamwork above! Dan
AS well as ashamed to here such a lack of support for our countries policies, and Our President. Come from someone who server In the Nam. I guess time really does heal all wounds. Frazier Must Have forgotten the feelings of abandonment, disrespect. and unappreciation. We Nam Vets experienced upon our return to this country. he must have forgotten How the anti war protesters Tried to Make us Vets feel small and ashamed for defending their very right to protest. He must have forgotten the rage and disgust felt, when being spat upon for wearing his Military Uniform In a bus station, Or airport. Because It seems now he has more love for Money than he does for our country, And the freedoms it affords us.
Frazier If you were one Of the Vets fortunate enough to return early, and retire to a rural area that was not in the Midst of the heated protests. Good for you. But next time you go to the VA hospital. sit and chat with some of your fellow vets that were Not. Then you will be better able to see How you slapped their faces with your statement.
Doesn't matter if you support the war or not, you better damn well support our troops who are over there fighting, suffering & dying to protect your (& my) way of life. But personally I think you should write a letter ragging Sadam, OBL & all these other anti-american rectum breath terrorists. They are costing this nation billions by forcing us to perserve & fight for our freedom. Dang good thing we didn't have all your hollywood spoiled pampered anti-american types around during WWII as you'd be speaking german or japenese right now. I for 1 sure the hell don't want my children speaking arabric when they get older because your america is always at fault philosphy even when we were attacked 1st. Thank God Clinton or Gore wasn't in office because we'd still be waiting to do something about 9-11. Do you realise that Clinton spent more money trying to bring down Bill Gates than he did on ALL the terriorist attacks this country suffered in his 8 yrs in office...Yes that's right combine them all & he thought Gates was more of a threat to our national security than they were.
