I was wondering if anyone new the exact steps in opening a taxidermy studio in Iowa. I have only done deer mounts for myself and no work what so ever for anyone not even friends. I want to make sure everything is legal and up to par before even jumping into it. Who do I contact for permits or licenses. What records would I need to keep ect. would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for any help yopu all might have.

The best place to start would be with you state division Of wildlife. They can tell you what permits you need and what records need to be kept
I contacted the Iowa DNR. I was told all I have to do is go to a local Electronic License vendor like Wal-Mart and pay $16 for a one year license. Then contact the U.S. Fish & Wildlife for water fowl and fish services. How easy is that?!?
