Would it be ok to soak fish hides in coleman fuel for a day or so to degrease them?

Why not use one of the products made for taxidermy? Coleman fuel aint to great of a choice and sure not for that long.
and then soak in a borax/lysol solution 2 hours to overnight depending the fish. I do use fresh paint thinner from time to time if there is any odor.
Why use chemicals that are harmfull to your health and dangerous to have in the shop, Like fire hazard? Dawn dish soap is great and so is other products specifically for degreasing hides and fish skins.
I would rather have my brain full functioning as long as it can. No need ot kill of brain sells just to degrease a fish. Also, what are you planning to do with the gas, thinner, mineral spirtis after the wash. dump it down the drain? Outside in the gutter? Not very good choices either of them. Soap can just go down the drain or be dumped out in the yard with out harming anything.
This is just my chance to stand on the soap box for a minute.
Thanks on the responses guys. I guess Its better to use somthing safe and better for the enviorment. I guess I'll check out WASCO and see what they have to offer.
