I would like to sell a couple of pheasant mounts that I have recently done online and I had some questions about the paperwork..do I have this right?..the way I understand it, if the bird is migratory..it can not be sold..if it is a captive reared migratory bird than it can be sold with the proper transfer slip and fed. migratory bird permit~~Game birds just simply need to be pen raised in order to sell, no fed permit required and the bird does not need to be marked in any way like the migratory captive reared birds are....Here's my question..I see people selling quail, pheasants and other game birds on line and they say that they have the proper paperwork..what would this be?..When I bought the birds from the breeder (I did not raise these myself) I requested and received a hand written receipt with his propagators (sp?) permit # on it..should I just send a couple of this or send a receipt of my own and just include the permit # on that? Also, I have some call duck mounts that I would like to sell, these are not federally protected and I did not receive a transfer slip due to this, what paperwork if any should accompany these..?Any help appreciated as I'm a bit confused on this. I did write Ebay, they sent me a list of their rules and regulations, what you can sell and what you can't but it didn't address the paperwork that must be provided...
Thanks for any info..

Some states require license numbers and some don't. No one can even guess at what is required for you, since we have no idea where you are. Some states allow the sale of mounted wild shot birds, as long as you are not over your limit, and some don't. Call ducks are domestics, not covered by any laws, unless there is something local against it, you are good to go with them. Ebay is only concerned with what effects them, U.S. and Calif. regulations. Your local warden will be your best bet for an accurate answer.
I'm located in West Virginia ~~ Thanks
I think that sending along a copy of the paper w/the permit# on it that you got from the breeder would be OK in most states.
The call ducks are classified as domestic poultry. Anything you can do with a chicken can be done with them. Hint: on eBay, list them as "miniature mallards" in your heading (if they are the grey kind.) You can always clarify things in the description.
