I got a coyote hide that a teachers want's me to fix, the guy that tanned it for him used the deer hunters tanning solution or something it is in a orange bottle and you can like by it a cabelas for like $12, anyway now there is maggots in the hide in a couple of spots so he froze it and asked if i can fix it with out doing any more damage to the hide, i pickle with saftee acid, and tan with lutan-f, can i like rehydrate it and pickle, neutralize, tan and fix the problem hopefully, or is there a chance of doing something hurtfull to the hide. or is there anything else i can do to fix the problem, any suggestions would be helpful on how to go about fixing the problem.

.....It is "already" shot. The problem is, no matter what you do, the hide is most likely unsalvagable. But you will get the blame for any further deterioration. The maggots are a sign that something is spoiled, which means there will be slipping, maybe a "lot" of slipping. Ask yourself, "do I want to take credit for handing him a hairless coyote?" None of it will be your fault. He had better be fully aware of that before you do anything or you will be the "bad guy" here.
