i have some crawdads i want to preserve for a fish mount. I know they have exoskelotons but how do I get all of there insides out without having to break them open? After I do get them cleaned Do I just paint them like I would fish? Any help is greatly appreciated.

If they are not large ones I have put them in denatured alcohol for a few hours to preserve them. I then inject them with something like Rittel's preservz-it. I then set them in position on a small piece of styrofoam and pin them the way I want them. I use a food dehydrator to dry them out. But you could set them out in the sun for a couple days or so. They do not take very long to dry. Then get some good reference and paint them up.
