I looked in the archives but I did not see this specific issue answered. I am having a probmem with my bondo ears. At first I mixed half layup resin and half bondo along with fiberglass shavings. The consistency of the mix was great but even with an excessive amount of hardner the bondo would not kick and get hard. After doing some research I read that you should only use very little layup resin. So next time I used a little and my mix was very tough to work with. Too stiff. It was very difficult to get it into all of the areas of the ear evenly. It got hard in the right time but it is not even. I have also read about alot of people using the bondo straight with no layup resin and having no problems. Am I doing something wrong or is it just a matter of getting used to the technique. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Why make it hard? There are so many quality ear liners on the market today. A good ear liner used in conjunction with Epo-Grip 7 min. adhesive works great. Of course check your liner for a good fit ahead of time. Bondo is good for filling skull cavities and other applications but is no longer needed for most ear situations. To much time and guess work . Time is money. I'm assuming, of course, that this isn't a little varmit ear or similar. Peace- Jeff F.
Hi mike I use a mixture of 50% bondo and 50% resin and i've had very good results make sure you use the bondo hardener and not the resin catalyst i use a strip about 6" to 8" long and it sets in about 20 to 30 min if you have any questions you can call me during the week 269 948 2246 steve
