Buying from UK

Submitted by Robert on 09/22/2003. ( ) 199.207.253.96

I plan on buying a few mounts from a UK antique store. Could someone please tell me what I can/can't have sent to me in the US?

Thanks in advance.

It Would Be Easier

If you could specify what the mounts are, it would be easier to give you an answer.

A lamb, a set of Porbeagle shark jaws & some antique veterinarian specimens (rabbit, rodents, cats) in formaldehyde.

Thanks.

doing business in the U.K. I myself was taken for over 600.00 and with all the complaining I had done...it is simply a lost case. I will NEVER deal with anything out of the U.K. again. I do wish you luck if you so choose to go forward.

I have done MANY (non taxidermy) transactions with people in the UK and have never had a problem. It depends on the person you deal with...you shouldn't act as though all the people in the UK are out to steal your money.

Probably so...

but when dealing outside of the U.S. recovery is pretty much a loss. At least here in the U.S. you have options that may include having someone look into the matter. Being over seas...much harder to do. Glad to hear you have had pleasant transactions Lisa. Just a heads up on my part. There are probably more crooks out there than there are honest....sorry to say. Just look at how many here on the Taxidermy net get taken! If the occasion rises...PEOPLE ARE OUT TO TAKE YOUR MONEY
