I have a large Elk skull and antlers, but the skull got crushed somewhat by snow last winter. Is there any way to soften the bones, re-shape them, and then let them harden again? A vinegar solution? I know nothing about taxidermy, so please keep it simple. Can a professional do anything and how much?

Cut them off and treat them like sheds.
reproduction skull is gonna be about your best bet. check with your local taxidermist for more info and ordering.
