We are seeing the prices drop a bit.... But, so far this sets a newer low price level which is much higher than months ago. Since there are no holidays in the near future I suspect the price will come down some until maybe Thanksgiving when folks take to the road again.

Well in the Northeast

They are out of control. I did not notice the prices until my husband and I were out driving and passed a gas station. All I remember is him screaming &^%@$##*%^*^%*^%! I think they are 1.79 per gallon last time I looked.

Gas Is The LAST Thing We Should.......

This response submitted by Old Fart on 09/09/2003. ( ) 64.122.57.67

.....Be complainiing about. I bought a NEW(1973) Dodge 1/2 ton pickup in Sept 1973 for $3100, gas was $.48 then. Now gas is $1.60+ or -, or about 3.5 times as much. Anyone care to tell me where I can buy a NEW Pickup for less than $11,000. I will also bet the percentage of the price we were paying in taxes was far less then.

They will not

This response submitted by Alex on 09/09/2003. ( advancetaxidermyall@hotmail.com ) 66.245.79.84

they will not come down as long as we have a president that is in the pocket of the oil companies.

European Gasoline Prices

This response submitted by Old Fart on 09/10/2003. ( ) 64.122.57.60

I just saw on the news this morning that gas prices in Europe are about $5.00 a gallon. Ain't Socialism great!

Out of curiosity I emailed a friend in So.Africa last night. Gas is 4.26R/litre there. That works out about $2.25 and they are expecting an increase.

...but

This response submitted by Bill Yox on 09/10/2003. ( ) 64.12.96.138

...how the heck did George Bush screw up THOSE countries? Sorry, I just had to wise crack again!

No Joke

This response submitted by shooter on 09/10/2003. ( ) 66.175.168.21

How does anybody come up with the idea that the president has anything to do w/ the gas prices? If you remember Gas went so high during clintons last term that he had to tap into the war reserve of crude oil to get the gas prices back down.

If you need an economics class let us know, there are many here to can explain it to you.
Then you can learn about supply and demand and its effect on the price of commodoties.

God Bless,

Glad prices are dropping at last!

This response submitted by Nancy M. on 09/10/2003. ( ) 67.27.44.34

Regular is finally DOWN (ha!) to $1.95 after being stuck at $2.00+ for quite a while. Premium was off the charts.
(This is in WA state.)
If somebody could invent a vehicle that is fueled by hot air then all the liberals could quit burning up so much gas!
That would leave more for Nascar (totally essential, of course) and those of us who drive real trucks that are big enough to be useful.
