how do you get the brushed suede look on the skin side of deer rugs? my skins are very thin and have turned out beautiful but in looking at other taxidermists rugs that have been "sent out" they all have the suede backs.how do they do it on a large or small scale?

36 grit on it. Yep this has not been covered in awhile. But its achieved with a sanding drum.

I use an orbital sander. The type that uses round paper with holes. When finished sanding, I use a gum stick to clean the paper and it's good as new.
