Anyone try the WASCO hobby kits?

I am very interested in taxidermy and have the time and patience for it. My dad said he mounted a squirel years ago and he did a good job. I found the WASCO page and some hobby kits they have and thought it would be like $60 for small game and over $100 for deer head mounts. WOW to my surprise the squirel kit is about $16 plus like $14 for the mount. I would like to try the squirel 1st then maybe a phesant. Do I need to buy or need anything else? How are the kits and are they what they say 'complete'? (except for the sculpture, and sometimes eyes). And also whats it usually take a beginner to do a squirel and a phesant? Just a basic time in hours.

Thank you!

Click the search button. The kit are complete for the most part but if you want a quality mount you will have to invest in quite a bit of tools, paints, reference photos, ect. I'm talking from the stand point of mounting whitetails, squirels might be easier but the same principal. Buy some Breakthrough manuals. Good Luck

Well its been 2 weeks and still didnt find any info on how good the hobby kits are. I bought a Van Dykes squirrel kit and it seems simple. Just doing some more research and collecting tools before starting. So far I have a full set of knives, wire brush, clear apoxy and syringes to fill the feet, exacto knife. And everything that was in the kit. I am going to start within the next few days.
