How can I preserve cartilage?

Hello everyone!

I'm looking for ways to preserve skeletons of young animals. I would like to reconstruct several pig skeletons, the only problem is the bones are still mostly cartilage at the younger ages. How can I clean the bones and preserve them so I can reconstruct them?

Thanks so much!

Rachel

cartilage dries up It don't really need preserving..but with what your
trying to do It's bound to twist out of shape

anyway to harden it?

Is there anyway to preserve its shape? Are there chemicals I can soak it in so it will harden? How are shark skeletons preserved? They are cartilage and would pose the same problems, wouldn't they?

Thanks!

Rachel
