Wow, just wish to tell you beginners a few things. after getting a very serious ass chewing by e-mail, its time to remind the beginners, youth and adult. These are PROFESSIONAL CHEMICALS. DUHHHH

40% Peroxide, will eat your skin and can permently damage your eyes and other mucous membranes. You really dont need this strong of H2O2.
40% is for PROFESSIONAL USE, you can burn your finger nails off, it will eat any protien very fast. Just a drop and you can loose eye site forever.

Dont use without, goggles, gloves and a rubber apron.

3% from WALMART will do the job! and is safer too!

Pickling ACIDS, Acids are acids, they are inherently dangerous.
Safety acid, citric acid, sulferic acid, formic acid are all dangerous. While citric acid is edible at the % strength we use.
IT IS STILL DANGEROUS!

Scalphels, that should say it all, duh! Surgical steel, surgically sharp.

Duh, Its noones fault here your little Jimmy cut the tendons in his hand. Sorry, wake up! No I am not sorry It's pity you!

Yes, many chemicals when mixed to emit DANGEROUS TOXINS of which CYANIDE is one of them.

CYANIDE is was used in GAS CHAMBERS TO KILL PEOPLE, use the saftey equipment the manufacter recommends, it may save your life and your liver!

Urethanes are fairly safe, but you must use your head when using them!
Use latex gloves when mixing and applying them, use a gas particulate mask when spraying them. Use good air exchange when spraying and keep them out of your house home or office until cured.

ONLY WHEN CURED ARE THEY REMOTELY SAFE.

Mrs. S. its not my fault not the fault of anyone on this board your son is a dumbass. You should have supervise his use of any and all products used for taxidermy purposes.
Mater of fact you are at fault, if one of us said jump off the bridge and plant your face in the centerline of the highway and you will learn to be a taxidermist, would you allow him to follow the directions? No I don't think so.

He is not a child, he is 17 years old, time for you to assume the position of grownup and look at what your innocent child had done! In most states he can even be tried as an adult in a court of law!

Kiss my grits!!

Sincerly John C

If he is old enough to surf the net and be exposed to unrestricted information provided therein without adult supervision, he is old enough to do and use taxidermy chemicals etc without adult supervision.

If you are concerned about the processes and chemicals he is using, then perhaps ma'am you should have supervised him FIRST as he was learning these techniques. To let him have free run on the internet without knowing what he is doing or reading is irresponsible on your part.

The techniques and products listed within these forum pages are the same or modified versions of those techniques that one can learn in various books available for purchase in stores or receive on loan from libraries. It is your responsibility as a concerned and attentive parent to monitor what your son reads and absorbs from ALL sources until such time as he is wise enough to make sound decisions of his own.

Any injuries or risk he may have incurred is a direct result of his poor decisions and your neglect. Scapegoating others is a common occurance to absolve yourself of your own liability.
