I have a fox hide in a pickle and i am leaving one day early for a 10 day trip, a friend is going to keep the acid level down around 2 ph for me. He will come over and test it every day, but my question is, when he finds that the ph is higher(lower) depends on how you look at it, how does he go about geting it back down to 2 ph? that was harder then i thought. Thanks in advance.

Add more acid...if you run out of acid there are substatutes that you can use but they don't work as well. Make sure you have enough salt also. The directions should explain all this.
Use baking soda to raise the PH.
Drop the pH to 1 and let the hide soak in it, there should not be any problem if the pH is going to climb it will in a few hours, one hide should not change the pH of a three gallon pickle to more than 2.5 pH I keep hides in a 3.0 pickle since 1998, and they are still fine.
