bird specimen preservation

I know nothing about taxidermy or mounting, but I have this bird in my freezer that I would like to preserve so I can keep it out of my freezer. I don't want a life like mounting, I actually preferr that it look like a dead bird. So I was wondering if I could just dry the whole thing in alum or something like that so I don't have to cut this thing open or anything like that.

Dead mounts can be very attractive.

nothing will preserve the bird for over a short time, unless its mounted.

it can be mounted in a dead like pose. with a frame and some additional hunting memrobilia

You probably could get a taxidermist to that dead pose cheaper?
