i have a deer hide im going to tan but there's a problem with the fur. theres about a 2" in diameter spot around the bullet hole where the hair is bloody and kinda greazy. its falling out in clumps! big greazy clumps. is there any thing i could do that might prevent this? if not will it affect the brain tanning prosess? thanks in advance!

I have braintanned alot of pelts,you need the hair or fur tight when doing this process,you cannot add bacteria killer and get a natural tan. Hope this helps krista.
